collide: tectonic placs

steep: having an almost vertical slope or angle

ash :he gray or black powdery matter that remains after burning

stream: a body of water flowing in a channel, as a brook

ridge: a long, narrow elevation of land

mesas: a land formation having steep sides and a rlatively flat top, common in the southwestern U.S.

canyon: a deep valley with steep slides

isthmus: a narrow strip of land, bordered on both sides by water, connecting two larger bodies of land

bay: a body of water enclosed by a curve of the coast around it

glacier: an extended mass of ice formed from snow falling and gattering over the years and moving very slowly downward or outward

island: an area of land completely sourranded by water but not large enough to be called a continent

lake: a body of fresh or salt water of considerable size, surrounded by land
